Doujinshi · リンゴヤ
The chemistry between the characters in 'Azusa's Night' is electric, and the way the artist, Arupe, captures their evolving relationship is both tender and scorching. The story follows a serious, studious type who finds himself entangled with a more carefree spirit, and the tension between their personalities is palpable. The art style is clean and expressive, with a focus on the characters' emotions and physicality that really draws you in. While the plot is straightforward, the character dynamics and the gradual unraveling of their desires make it a compelling read. The adult scenes are tastefully done, emphasizing intimacy over gratuitousness, which I appreciate. However, I wish there was a bit more depth to the backstory to fully invest in their relationship. For non-Japanese speakers, the visual storytelling is strong enough to convey the emotional arc, though the nuanced dialogue is a miss. Still, the artwork alone is worth the price of admission.
