Doujinshi · ma＊citrus
The tension between Hayashio and Ooyodo in this doujinshi is palpable, and it’s a delight to see how the artist navigates their dynamic. The artwork is crisp and detailed, with expressions that perfectly capture the characters’ emotions—whether it’s Hayashio’s stoicism or Ooyodo’s playful teasing. The story doesn’t rush into anything, instead building a slow burn that feels both natural and satisfying. While the plot is rooted in the *KanColle* universe, it stands on its own, making it accessible even to those who aren’t deeply familiar with the source material. The pacing is excellent, and the dialogue feels authentic to the characters. For non-Japanese readers, the visual storytelling is strong enough to carry the narrative, though you’ll miss out on the nuanced banter. Still, the chemistry between the characters and the artist’s skill make this a must-see.
