The September 2026 issue of COMIC Kairakuten is a wild ride, and I mean that in the best way possible. The anthology is packed with stories that range from sweet and romantic to downright explicit, and it’s clear that the artists poured their hearts (and other things) into their work. One particular story about a couple reuniting after years apart really stuck with me—the tension and chemistry between them were palpable, and the art style was both delicate and bold, which is a rare balance to achieve. There’s also a surprising amount of diversity in themes, from office romances to fantasy settings, which keeps things fresh. However, some stories felt a bit rushed, and I wish they had more room to breathe. Still, it’s a solid read for anyone who enjoys adult manga with a mix of genres. For non-Japanese speakers, the visual storytelling is strong enough to carry the experience, though you’ll miss out on the nuanced dialogue.
